One of the challenges of a small garden design is certainly not like a big garden, you need to be much more disciplined in your approach. While experiments are easier to do in smaller gardens, you will want to spend some time planning. You should be satisfied with fewer types of plants. Instead of buying a sudden new plant, you will want to spend a little time thinking about the potential of new plants according to the spread, height, color and texture. With smaller parks, not as easy as doing things like hidden bends and garden space. But this does not mean you need to get rid of contemporary park design elements. You have the opportunity to do the same on a smaller scale. Imagine you have a small garden space on the back of your yard. It’s on your right as you walk toward it.

You can start with a low boxwood hedge, or in my case a 12-foot high stone with a sharp edge on top.It is about 3 feet long I put a stone that is perpendicular and touches the wall of my garage, forming a border that shaped like mountains. When you walk further back, the area that was originally obscured by the rock was revealed.I tried to make this more dramatic by using colorful peonies planted very close to the side of the rock near the garage wall. This way, You see a small explosion of color that remains hidden until you actually reach the rock level. This is my version of a hidden curve. While great hardscapes like rocks and walls may not be possible, you can still create the illusion of farewell by using hedges, rocks like in my example, gravel rivers like gardening in Japan, etc. For myself, instead of trying to make a room or a separation in a single garden area, I have several small garden areas, half of which are accompanied by grass.

In some cases, I try to treat each of these small areas as a separate garden or room. This gives me the ability to try new things fairly quickly in a small garden area. If it does not work, or if I want to try something new, I can buy some extra plants, or I might move the plants from one of the other small gardens. I can add my “mini hardscapes” like rocks, and move the plants around in a matter of minutes. I think experimenting is one of my favorite things about this type of gardening. While on the one hand, you need to plan the appropriate plants, on the other hand you can swap different plants in and out of certain places to see which one is best, or just to try new ideas. As always, you need to pay attention to your growth zone, especially the vs. sun hour. shadows in the area you planted. We did spot analysis in the first place to find out which plants would thrive in our garden. I’ve read that poorly selected plants become yearly, so do not let that happen to you! Be sure to select your plants for the appropriate size, texture, color, and durability for your planting area.

Some areas I get sunshine for 6 hours, some are always shady. Unlike larger parks, you will be able to see your whole garden as a whole. Although you can have some separation into the restroom if you want, remember to see each little garden as its complete composition. The way plants work together to form a whole can be much more important in small gardens. Everything I read shows that you have to be somewhat monochromatic with your little garden. Use variations and subtleties of different dominant colors. Show differences with height, texture, and more. On the other hand, I’ve always been a pioneer, so you can always try explosions with different colors, especially if you have objects to anchor explosions, like rocks, small bird baths, sun watches, benches, etc. For myself, I will never get tired of red and green against whitish stones. And again, here’s the flexibility of a small garden. You can still have some of the traditional elements of a larger garden, such as a separate sitting area or play area. But there are several options. First, instead of a garden area with a play area, it has 2 different park areas separated by a play area. If you want a bench, or sitting area, try the same – 2 separate gardens divided by sitting area.
