Baseball cards are big business. For ages the children have collected cards that come in packets of chewing gum. The Topps baseball card is pulled off the shelf and taken to the checkout counter with coins and pennies stored just for this purpose. Now children can buy player cards from almost every sport. Many adults enjoy collecting hobbies as well. Why not expand collecting cards to other areas of interest, such as Knights of the Round Table? There may be a collection of medieval knights. This could include various interesting statistics, including the number of crusades, the names of women whose honors are nurtured, dragons killed and damsels stored. There are many paintings of St.
George and Dragon. Why not put it on a trading card? King Arthur and Knights of the roundtable will be a fantastic collection to pursue. There are almost 35 different Knights from the Round Table alone. Who does not want a card from Ywain the Bastard? He is a Knight knight beyond marriage by King Urien of Gore, a name and title that sounds like a bad horror movie. Ywain the Bastard is a soul killed in a joust during the quest of the Holy Grail. He was killed accidentally by his cousin, Gawain. Gawain is also a knight of Arthurian legend. He is known as the polite Knight and Knight of the girls. The story of the Knights is filled with magic, romance and noble, though often misguided.

A collection of reference cards can help young minds try to understand the complexity of the Arthurian Roundtable. It may also raise some questions that parents may not be able to answer.
