Pop Tart Love Note

By Shara Lawrence-Weiss

As a part of our Littering the Environment (with print) experiment I’ve been placing lots of paper and writing tools on the kitchen table. I’ve mentioned this in several posts but seeing as this site is an experimental one for me, I’ll mention it often.

Today we met up with my friend Jena at the park for lunch, along with her hubby and parents. Jena always brings me gifts (today I actually had pine cones for her, also!) which is so kind. She brought me Little Women (she knows I love that book) on tape – a collector gift for old people like me who actually remember using tape decks. She also gave us a box of Pop Tarts and some other goodies. I have purchased Pop Tarts for my kids about twice in their entire lives. Boy were they excited. My six year old daughter ran over to the table to write her Pop Tart a love note. Hahahahaha.

“Dear Pop Tart. You are yummy.”

Emergent Literacy…at its yummiest.
